Abstract

|
Joseph Sandler¢¥s concept of safety and safety principle is introduced in this paper with emphasis on the role of perception as an integrative ego function, from which safety feeling, far more distinct from sensual pleasure, is generated as a feelings of wellbeing. He showed us his psychoanalytic control case in which he found and conceptualized the importance of safety in the unresponsive analytic situation in spite of every possible efforts, which can surely give us profound insight and creative analytic mind for analytic theory and clinical application. Finally he linked this safety concept to narcissistic disorder and motivation theory, widened our understanding.
